After all the digital silliness, I decided to go back to my roots and breakout the coloured pencils again. And it felt good!

So mad lighting, bad anatomy, psychedelic hair (man!) and a wonky face aside, I had fun doing this. I don't know why I decided to draw this on red paper... ummm, I was in a red mood? It was fun, though :lol: I'm thinking of doing an Ice Mage next, with all blues and purples. Well, I will if I can stop the obsessive compulsive behaviour I am exhibiting over my lesson planning for September... ;p

Very good considering the medium It got good flow with the clothing and the hair looks great. The dress detail is spot on. My only complaint is the composition kinda goes off the end of the page u may want to scan it in and give it a great background or more space around her. Its a very lovely piece.

I must admit, I have a terrible problem with backgrounds... tend to get carried away with the actual character, and then get bored. I was also drawing on A4 paper, so this isn't actually cropped (I usually draw on A but them have the problem that my scanner is too small, which ends up with the same problem - it's something I've tried to address over the years, but old habits (or lack of habits when it comes to backgrounds) do indeed die hard!

I think that perhaps the skirt could do to be a bit longer, cause it looks like she has really short legs.

Other than that I really love it! it has a really strong energy and the detailing is beautiful!

Absolutely georgeous picture! And you did that with pencils? =O It looks lovely! I like all the amount of detail you've put into it, like the pattern on the bodice. :+fav:
